Experimental characterization and modeling of affinity membrane

چکیده
The present study proposes a model to explain the adsorption process through ionexchange membrane adsorbers. The model is defined by the continuity equation, expressed as a differential mass balance of the solute over a section of the membrane, and the Langmuir isotherm. The proposed model uses dimensionless variables that were defined by characteristic times of the global process. To examine the validity of the model, the adsorption of an anionic dye (Orange G) through the ion-exchange membrane adsorbers was investigated as a function of dye and KCl concentration, obtaining strong correlation between fitted and experimental breakthrough curves.

Modeling of Methane Hydrate Decomposition by Using Chemical Affinity
In this work, experimental kinetics data of methane hydrate decomposition at temperatures ranging from 272.15 to 276.15 K and at pressures ranging from 10 to 30 bars were modeled by using chemical affinity. This model proposed a macroscopic model which is independent of any intermediate mechanism like heat or mass transfer. The results show there is good agreement with experimental data. Al...
متن کاملModeling and Experimental Study of Carbon Dioxide Absorption in a Flat Sheet Membrane Contactor
comIn the present study, CO2 removal from natural gas stream has been studied using a flat sheet membrane contactor. A three dimensional mathematical model is developed to describe the process. The model considers the transport of a gas mixture containing carbon dioxide and methane through a flat sheet membrane contactor module. The model is based on the non-wetted mode of operation, in which t...
متن کاملIsolation and Characterization of Novel Phage Displayed scFv Fragment for Human Tumor Necrosis Factor Alpha and Molecular Docking Analysis of Their Interactions
Tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) expression amplifies to excess amounts in several disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis. Although, Anti-TNF biologics have revolutionized the treatment of these autoimmune diseases, formation of anti-drug antibodies (ADA) has dramatically affected their use. The next generation antibodies (e.g. Fab, scFv) have not only reduced resulted immunoge...

متن کاملExperimental Measurement and Kinetic Modeling of Ethane Gas Hydrate in the Presence of Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate Surfactant
Abstract: In this work, the kinetics of ethane hydrate formation has been studied experimentally and a kinetic model based on chemical affinity has been described for predicting the hydrate growth process in the stirred batch reactor at a constant volume. The experiments were done with both pure water and aqueous solution of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS). The effect of SDS on formation kineti...
متن کاملMathematical Modeling of Carbon Dioxide Removal from the CO2/CH4 Gas Mixture Using Amines and Blend of Amines in Polypropylene: A Comparison between Hollow Fiber Membrane Contactor and Other Membranes
In this work, a mathematical model is established to describe the removal of CO2 from gaseous mixtures including CH4 and CO2 in a polypropylene hollow fiber membrane contactor in the presence of conventional absorbents such as monoethanolamine (MEA), methyldiethanolamine (MDEA), and a blend of them. Modeling was performed in axial and radial directions under the fully-wet condition for counterc...
